Work is progressing well and it is anticipated that water will be restored at 4:00pm.
After the repair there will be some reinstatement work to be completed.
⚠️WATER OUTAGE - AVA STREET, PETONE UPDATE⚠️
Our team have been able to isolate the extent of the outage. The outage area has been reduced and now only affects Ava Street from South Street to Cuba Street and including all of Byron Street.
We expect to restore water around 5pm, and will have bottled water available between 16-18 Ava Street shortly.
All properties initially affected should have water back on now, with pressure returning to normal. When water returns there may be discolouration or have air bubbles. Please run your outside taps for a short time until this clears. Please make sure appliances that use water – washing machines, dishwashers – are switched off.
If you are still without water, please contact Hutt City Council.
Our team are investigating a burst water main at 14 Ava Street, Petone. Team are on site now.
This is affecting a wide area of Petone – Bracken, Tory, Te Ara O Paetutu, Bouverie, Lower Cuba, Jackson (Approx 200 upwards), Marine Parade, William Streets.
Most properties may still have water, although this is at a reduced pressure.

Hi Neighbors, Just a heads up, I have just received a $170 fine for driving at 50km on Rata Street Naenae on a SUNDAY Morning. I wrote to NZTA pointing out and sending in a photo of sign stating that it was 30km on school days between those hours, but they said that the whole of Rata Street and some surrounding streets are 30km 24/7 and have been for over a year. Did I miss this been advised by council? Always good to be informed. Merry Christmas to all
