Mr December
Meet Mister December in my Wild birds of New Zealand 2022 calendar. He obviously didn't get the memo about being a "stately royal spoonbill". I'm in a hide at Pauatahanui, but he totally knows I'm there and is clacking his just desserts spoon at me in case I was thinking of doing anything funny. Royal spoonbill/kōtuku ngutupapa (Platalea regia).
The calendars are a large A3 size and $28 each. I've heard they make a lovely Christmas present or you can keep it for yourself and have this handsome lad hanging in your kitchen for a whole month. Poll: Would you participate in local initiatives aimed at stopping plastic from reaching our oceans?
Volunteers will be scouring the foreshore, riverbanks, and islands for rubbish on Saturday the 13th as part of the Clean Up the Hutt event.
