Day Bay Beach: the foreshore area between Marine Drive and Ferry Road to the north, and Waeranga Road to the south from 6pm Sunday 5 November to 6am Monday 6 November. At other times this applies from 9pm to 5am and,
Petone Beach: from the corner of Hutt Road and Jackson Street, Jackson Street up Britannia Street, along Udy Street, down Cuba Street to Heretaunga Street, along Heretaunga Street along the eastern end of Petone, along the length of Petone foreshore, Hutt Road to the intersection with Jackson Street at all times.
To keep everyone safe there is also a bylaw prohibiting the lighting of bonfires within reserves, including the above foreshore and beach areas. Please don't light any large fires (greater than 1m diameter) on reserves, beaches and the foreshore within 5 metres of any vegetation or timber structures, or above the high tide mark.

Some Choice News!

Kia pai from Sharing the Good Stuff

Many New Zealand gardens aren’t seeing as many monarch butterflies fluttering around their swan plants and flower beds these days — the hungry Asian paper wasp has been taking its toll.

Thanks to people like Alan Baldick, who’s made it his mission to protect the monarch, his neighbours still get to enjoy these beautiful butterflies in their own backyards.

Thinking about planting something to invite more butterflies, bees, and birds into your garden?

Thanks for your mahi, Alan! We hope this brings a smile!
