Services during Alert Level 3

Jamie Dobson from Hutt City Council

As we move to Alert Level 3 overnight, a reminder about our services in Te Awakairangi:

🗑️ Rubbish collection will continue as usual along with Green Waste collection.

♻️ Mixed recycling (yellow bins) will be sorted safely at the sorting center in Seaview, rather than be sent to landfill. Make sure you know when to put your bins out by checking toogoodtowaste.co.nz

🚗 As we did in Alert Level 4, we're continuing to provide free parking for at least the first week of Alert Level 3.

📚 Library loan periods have been auto-extended and overdue fees waived. Our libraries remain closed, including return bins, so please keep your library books at home!

Poll: Are Kiwis allergic to “exuberance”? 🥝

The Team from Neighbourly.co.nz

In The Post’s opinion piece on the developments set to open across Aotearoa in 2026, John Coop suggests that, as a nation, we’re “allergic to exuberance.”

We want to know: Are we really allergic to showing our excitement?

Is it time to lean into a more optimistic view of the place we call home? As big projects take shape and new opportunities emerge, perhaps it’s worth asking whether a little more confidence (and enthusiasm!) could do us some good.
