What Kind Of Business Can Use Self Storage?
Calling all businesses! You can all utilize self storage in some way, to help your company grow and expand!
Drive Up Garage & Enterprise Units
Experience the convenience of driving straight up to our spacious, secure Garages and Enterprise Units, designed for easy access and loading in any weather. At our Newlands facility, we offer drive up units perfect for vehicle storage or commercial and trade clients needing dry, clean, and secure warehouse space. These high-stud units are available for lease on a flexible, month-to-month basis, with no long-term commitment required.
These units are also available for long-term prepaid lease terms at a discounted rate, catering to all customer requirements.
Here are just some of the types of businesses that can use self storage:
Publishers
Need to store magazines, brochures or books before you sell them? Or store excess stock? A self storage unit is perfect for this, our staff can assist with deliveries too. You can move to a larger or smaller unit if you need more space.
Contractors and Tradies
Keeping your tools or equipment in your garage or vehicle can seem convenient but can come with some risks, theft being the main one. Tools of the trade can be expensive and it can set you back a lot of money to replace them suddenly, not to mention potentially losing a days’ work. If you keep everything in a storage unit, you can rest assured that your tools and equipment will be safe in our facilities.
Theatre Groups
Need somewhere to store all of those sets, props and costumes? Look no further. You could even use it as a living and breathing costume department.
Online businesses
Storage facilities are perfect for online businesses. You can have your shipping containers unpacked and cleared and the contents delivered straight to your unit. Often when you’re starting out, your inventory can grow faster than the space you’ve got available so self storage can be a real help.
Sales reps / Merchandisers
What do you do if your business, office or home is on one side of the city and your customer base another? Can you fit all of your samples and stock into your car? Even if you can, is it worth the risk of theft? A self storage unit can be ideal. Not only does it make it easy to keep an inventory, you can come and go as often as you like and if you need more storage, you can look at getting a larger unit.
There are lots of opportunities for all sorts of businesses to utilize self storage.
Our Newlands self storage facility is situated at the top of Ngauranga Gorge off Newlands Road. Our driveway starts near the offramp from the Newlands Interchange. This storage centre is very convenient for customers from Porirua to Karori and the Hutt Valley to the CBD.

‘Tis the season to not get scammed ...
As Christmas gift shopping moves increasingly online, scammers are ramping up their activity across the country.
Dunedin’s Investigation Support Unit is seeing more and more people fall victim to scams and other fraudulent activity, particularly on Facebook Marketplace.
There are a few ways to avoid the scams and keep yourself safe doing online trades this holiday season, says Southern District Service Delivery Manager Senior Sergeant Dalton.
🔒 “A good first step when looking to purchase something on Marketplace is to check when the seller’s Facebook profile was created. If it’s very recent, there is a higher risk that they have just created this account for a one-off fake item.”
🔒 Another important step is to make sure the seller’s profile name and bank account name match up. “We’re seeing a lot of scammers claiming their bank account name is different because it belongs to their partner or family member - that’s a huge red flag."
🔒 “When you’re selling, never trust a screenshot anyone sends you showing that payment has been made. Check your own bank account to make sure a payment has gone through."
🔒 “Quite frankly, it’s best for all parties to agree to pay, or be paid, for items in cash and in-person. Ideally in a public place with CCTV coverage."
🔒 "If you’re buying a car, check Carjam.co.nz to see if it’s stolen or if there’s money owed on it.”
A reminder: Suspicious activity can be reported on 105
At just 8 years old, Nina-Mae already has Wellington Council listening! 👏
She’s speaking up for safer roads for her and her classmates—fuelled by a desire for independence and maybe even a budding interest in politics.
So here’s the big question: how do we create space for every voice in our community to be heard?
It’s great that the Council is paying attention 👂 but what small actions can we all take to keep our whole community involved and engaged?
