First teacher of the OLD Belmont school Lower Hutt was William Golder.
He was also a poet and is published in Paperspast living at the Top of Normandale Road ie 2 miles from the OLD Hutt Railway Station.
He also speaks in 1840 of a flax thrashing machine.
