Hi everyone,

Here we are hard at work rehearsing for our next production “ Lockdown in Little Grimley”.

This is the fifth of the hugely popular Little Grimley series, which follows the antics of a hapless amateur dramatic society desperate for audiences.

In a time of lockdown, the Chairman Gordon calls an emergency meeting, complete with social distancing, to discuss his idea for their next production when restrictions ease - a touching love story set in a hospital, with all profits destined for the NHS. But based on their previous efforts, will the NHS actually end up worse off?

Show dates are Thu 4th May to Sat 13rth May and we have 2 free tickets to give away for opening night on the 4th. Simply go to our Facebook page, https://www.facebook.com/heretaungaplayers

like and share and you’ll automatically go in the draw.

Tickets can be purchased at Lockdown in Little Grimley (iticket.co.nz) The crew at Heretaunga Players look forward to seeing you at The Studio, 52 Ward Street.

Don't go old-school this winter and just throw on another jersey to beat the cold. You deserve to be truly comfortable in a warm, dry home without stressing about power bills.

Warmer Kiwi Homes is a government grant that offers 80% of the cost of ceiling and underfloor insulation, and up to 80% off an energy-efficient heater, like a heat pump.

And you may get it even cheaper than that - lots of community organisations offer extra funding to reduce the cost further.

Check your eligibility, or check for your whānau, at www.warmerkiwihomes.govt.nz

Another wonderful image from Simon Woolf. It was taken on the Kāpiti Coast.

"This bird is believe it, or not, I believe is Black Tern! "The Black Tern is one of four marsh tern species found worldwide and the rarest in New Zealand, with one accepted sighting north of Wellington in 2022. When breeding it is a small black tern with grey wings. It is pale in non-breeding plumage (as was the only local record).
Like the closely related white-winged black tern, the black tern can be found in a range of freshwater and estuarine habitats. The nominate form breeds in Eurasia, migrating to Africa to winter, while the North America subspecies migrates to Central and South America" We now have at least three birds in New Zealand, as I spotted three individual birds with the flock of White Fronted Terns. So rare in NZ. Very rapt, and a great find."
