Bush clad, flooding, stockades, potato growing, Shipping yard on the Waiwhetu, Taita was a village standing alone, County Roads and River Boards, Wainuiomata was isolated, Pencarrow lighthouse was later, Okiwi Bay had an accommodation Inn and then the settlers arrived 1840 onwards.
