Last Friday's traffic delays
Council contractors, the Higgins Group, has posted the following apology regarding traffic delays for those driving over the hill to Wainuiomata last Friday evening:
"Our sincere apologies to the residents of Wainuiomata for the traffic delays caused by our works last Friday evening, the 2nd of March 2018. The resurfacing of the Wainuiomata and Parkway Roads roundabout took longer than anticipated and we had to work past the required 3:30 pm cut off for this location, which led to a back-up of traffic travelling over the hill to Wainuiomata. We realise how frustrating this situation must have been for you. Again our sincere apologies. You can be assured that we are taking action to ensure this situation does not happen again." -Higgins Contractors Wellington

Some Choice News!
Many New Zealand gardens aren’t seeing as many monarch butterflies fluttering around their swan plants and flower beds these days — the hungry Asian paper wasp has been taking its toll.
Thanks to people like Alan Baldick, who’s made it his mission to protect the monarch, his neighbours still get to enjoy these beautiful butterflies in their own backyards.
Thinking about planting something to invite more butterflies, bees, and birds into your garden?
Thanks for your mahi, Alan! We hope this brings a smile!
