Civic Awards

We are celebrating the annual Civic Awards and are calling for nominations!

If you know of any outstanding, long-term volunteers you would like to nominate, download a nomination form from huttcity.govt.nz/civicawards

There are categories for community services, cultural affairs, educational services, recreation, social services and youth activities.

There is also a Youth Services Award celebrating young volunteers aged 15 to 25.

Nominations close 5pm, Friday 2 June.

Many New Zealand gardens aren’t seeing as many monarch butterflies fluttering around their swan plants and flower beds these days — the hungry Asian paper wasp has been taking its toll.

Thanks to people like Alan Baldick, who’s made it his mission to protect the monarch, his neighbours still get to enjoy these beautiful butterflies in their own backyards.
