Update #2: Chlorination of water supply in Lower Hutt (13 April 2017)

Hutt City Council

Yesterday, one of the wells in the Waterloo well field had a positive e-coli result. The good news is that tests today (Thursday 13 April) have come back negative, however Wellington Water will continue to chlorinate the water and test this bore and bores throughout the city, so your water supply will remain chlorinated over the long weekend.

Pending further investigation, and advice from Regional Public Health, Hutt City Council have closed the unchlorinated public water supply bores at Buick Street, and Dowse Square. Until we get approval, both public bores will be closed as a precautionary measure.

Some Choice News!

Kia pai from Sharing the Good Stuff

Many New Zealand gardens aren’t seeing as many monarch butterflies fluttering around their swan plants and flower beds these days — the hungry Asian paper wasp has been taking its toll.

Thanks to people like Alan Baldick, who’s made it his mission to protect the monarch, his neighbours still get to enjoy these beautiful butterflies in their own backyards.

Thinking about planting something to invite more butterflies, bees, and birds into your garden?

Thanks for your mahi, Alan! We hope this brings a smile!
