Based on tonight's experience, and with similar weather expected in the morning, Marine Drive is likely to be hazardous for approximately one hour each side of this time.
We have contractors on the job now, clearing debris off Marine Drive, which has been down to a single lane since about 7:30pm tonight.
If you normally head in to work between 7:30am and 9:30am, it might pay to go in early or late, to be on the safe side.

4.50am today found a half Persian brown and white cat digging up my garden so to the owner please have more control over your cat. I also have 3 other cats come on to my property 2 black and white ones and a blackish one.They love to catch and kill the birds and they're not fussy...starlings, sparrows,black birds,tuis, ducklings.Just letting cat owners who have no control over their pets I am over it.Am in Central Hutt area and house backs on to a stream....
