Roof repairs for pool
Upper Hutt’s popular H2O Xtream will be partially closed for four weeks from October 10.
The pool is undergoing maintenance, resulting in reduced opening hours and features.
Part of the multi-level roof lifted off in a storm last November and needs repairing.
All three hydroslides will be closed from Monday October 10 to Saturday October 22.
Hydrorobics classes will run on a limited time-table on Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Sunday. There will be no Toddler Time sessions during the four week period.
The spa pool will be out of action for three days from Monday October 10.
The facility will be open to the public as follows:
* Monday to Thursday 5.30am to 7.30 am and 3pm 9pm.
* Friday: 5.30am to 7.30 am and 3pm – 10pm.
* Saturday 8am to 7pm
*Sunday 8am to 6.30 pm and 7am – 9pm (women only).
Poll: Are Kiwis allergic to “exuberance”? 🥝
In The Post’s opinion piece on the developments set to open across Aotearoa in 2026, John Coop suggests that, as a nation, we’re “allergic to exuberance.”
We want to know: Are we really allergic to showing our excitement?
Is it time to lean into a more optimistic view of the place we call home? As big projects take shape and new opportunities emerge, perhaps it’s worth asking whether a little more confidence (and enthusiasm!) could do us some good.

Some Choice News!
Many New Zealand gardens aren’t seeing as many monarch butterflies fluttering around their swan plants and flower beds these days — the hungry Asian paper wasp has been taking its toll.
Thanks to people like Alan Baldick, who’s made it his mission to protect the monarch, his neighbours still get to enjoy these beautiful butterflies in their own backyards.
Thinking about planting something to invite more butterflies, bees, and birds into your garden?
Thanks for your mahi, Alan! We hope this brings a smile!
