All are welcome to join Moera Community Library Manager, Jeffrey Russell, for a fascinating look at the Battle of Flers in his talk 'Through the eyes of soldiers: 15th September 1916' during October and November.

Follow 4 soldiers before, during and after the first attack on the Western Front by NZ infantry at the Battle of Flers through letters, diaries and other official sources.

The talk on 26 October is part of our regular Tea and Tales session. Join us for a cup of tea and an hour of friendship and stories at the library.

The talk on 11 November falls on Armistice Day so we will begin with 1 minute silence.

This initiative allows customers to recycle their soft plastics which cannot go in the at home recycling bins. Since its introduction into the Auckland, Hamilton and Christchurch regions this initiative has already saved 18 million pieces of plastic from entering our landfills. The recycled products are turned into plastic beads which can then be made into other products, like the park bench presented to Wellington Zoo. Up next will see the likely introduction of the soft plastics recycling initiative into the Dunedin region in early 2017.
