Soft Plastic Recycling Launch
Together with Countdown, New World and PaknSave The Warehouse launched soft plastics recycling into the Wellington region. This initiative allows customers to recycle their soft plastics which cannot go in the at home recycling bins. Since its introduction into the Auckland, Hamilton and Christchurch regions this initiative has already saved 18 million pieces of plastic from entering our landfills. The recycled products are turned into plastic beads which can then be made into other products, like the park bench presented to Wellington Zoo. Up next will see the likely introduction of the soft plastics recycling initiative into the Dunedin region in early 2017.
