Review: The Seashore Cabaret

The Team from Stuff Dining Reviews

We'd heard this popular spot has great views and some of the best brunches in the Hutt Valley. Our very own Kylie Klein Nixon and Eric Janssen were impressed, giving it a whopping 5 stars. Do you agree?

We’ve had hundreds of you tell us just what makes your neighbour ‘awesome’ with some amazing stories. Do you have an awesome neighbour you haven’t told us about?

It could be a neighbour who donates time to a sports team in your neighbourhood or someone who brings your bins up the driveway every week. Maybe they’re just really unique; the neighbour who drives that bright pink car or skateboards with the kids to school each day.

Tell us why your neighbour is awesome and you could win one of four $250 Prezzy® cards (plus one for your Awesome Neighbour).

This is due to the risk of swallowing pieces of toxic algae. Toxic algae is naturally occurring, but poses a significant risk to human and animal health if ingested.

Because of the warm, dry weather the toxic algae bloom in the Hutt River has increased significantly, and pieces are detaching from the riverbed which poses a risk to swimmers. Even small pieces of toxic algae can be fatal to people and dogs if swallowed. Young children are particularly at risk due to their size.

We advise against swimming anywhere along the Hutt River until further notice. We are working with Regional Public Health and local authorities to inform people of the risks, but we encourage you to know what toxic algae looks like so you can avoid it and stay safe.

The black "shadow" in the photo is the algae.
