There’s also new growth at Birchville, Maoribank Corner and Poets Park, though at lower levels. It’s still safe to use those parts of the river, but keep an eye out and avoid any areas where you see toxic algae.
They’re not currently concerned about toxic algae elsewhere in the region.
You’ll see educational signs along the riverbank, warning you to keep an eye out for toxic algae, and you can learn more about it in this video: www.gw.govt.nz...

Hi all, I have a black cat hiding out under my house (and enjoying the dogs food that he doesn’t finish). Can’t call it closer so unsure or sex - just runs off. It won’t come when called. If you’re missing your pure black cat please get in contact. I’ll source a trap by next weekend … View moreHi all, I have a black cat hiding out under my house (and enjoying the dogs food that he doesn’t finish). Petone's historic Oddfellows Hall had no legal protection when it was bowled over by a developer late last year. Do you think the council needs to do more to recognise and protect the Hutt's old buildings?

Awesome work Wellingtonians, you have been keeping demand below 160MLD as you continue to #loveeverydrop.
Your gardens will have seen some love this week but this weekend is looking a bit dryer, so keep up the good water conservation work and let's remain below 160MLD.
