Tui along the river bank
The flax is in flower and the tui are literally posing on the end of the flower spikes. This guy insisted on following me and my oldest daughter along the Hutt River trail, just in case I needed a few different angles. So, here's something you might not have seen before (if you live in Canterbury and/or an underground bunker and don't get out much) - a tui (Prosthemadera novaeseelandiae) on a flax flower. It makes a refreshing change from tui in a kowhai tree.
