Chester is a very friendly, affectionate cat of 2 years old, please keep an eye out for him and let us know if you see him. He is a gorgeous mixed shade of ginger with white paws and a white patch under his chest. He is microchipped but doesn't have a collar. Contact Ashleigh on 0277560052 if you see him.

A fat blockage in the pipes along Brandon St was sending wastewater into the stormwater line via a constructed overflow. This was located and cleared on June 12.

A fat blockage in the pipes along Brandon St was sending wastewater into the stormwater line via a constructed overflow. This was located and cleared on June 12.
Investigations also found wastewater joints that had come apart under Queens Wharf, which were attended to by June 15.
If washed down the sink, fats and oils can build up in our pipes causing blockages. It’s best to wait for fats and oils to cool then wipe them into the bin.

The main outfall pipeline was placed back into service, and discharge to the Waiwhetu Stream stopped early Saturday morning (June 15). A visual inspection was conducted on the pipeline later on Saturday morning, and no visible leaks were detected.
