Could the long-talked talked about Cross Valley Link open up Petone Beach to be the next Oriental Bay? Labour list MP Ginny Andersen said the proposed route would take traffic off both the Petone Esplanade and Jackson St, and unleash the potential of Petone beach.

Many New Zealand gardens aren’t seeing as many monarch butterflies fluttering around their swan plants and flower beds these days — the hungry Asian paper wasp has been taking its toll.
