Riddiford Garden's facelift is coming along! What do you think of the revamp?
Temporary fencing has sprung up near the Hutt City council buildings as the third and final phase of the $9.8 million upgrade to the Riddiford Gardens gets underway. So far the Anzac lawn's been done up, a new entranceway installed and the latest addition is a new pathway. What do you think of the facelift? Is there anything you would have liked to be added? Many New Zealand gardens aren’t seeing as many monarch butterflies fluttering around their swan plants and flower beds these days — the hungry Asian paper wasp has been taking its toll.
Thanks to people like Alan Baldick, who’s made it his mission to protect the monarch, his neighbours still get to enjoy these beautiful butterflies in their own backyards.
