I am thoroughly in favour of doing what we can to save the beautiful Kauri. However I balance this with the Waitakeres being our source of Te Whare Tapa Wha. (Maori model of well being). However I balance this with the Waitakeres being our source of Te Whare Tapa Wha. (Maori model of well being). When hiking in the Waitakeres we receive Te Taha Wairua (spiritual health), Te Taha Whanau (family health, hiking in our community group), Te Taha Hinengaro (psychological health), and Te Taha Tinana (physical health). These are all essential to us living under the pressure that Auckland city brings. With all due respect, in 25 years of tramping, we have never seen a single Maori actually out on these tracks or any other tracks in NZ for that matter (I hope I am wrong!). My point in saying this is that there is a lack of consideration of the impact on the people actually using the Waitakeres, and gaining their health from being out there. Clearly if the Rahui was heeded, the tracks would all be gone within 10 years, so no one would be able to appreciate these beautiful trees anyway. I am asking the Council to come up with a strategy that is beneficial to all!

We have a delightful Gordon Setter who needs a summer clip, can anyone recommend a groomer who might know the breed so that we can get the clip done. We are fussy in that we need someone who knows the breed can do it properly. Many thanks Stan

It could be a neighbour who donates time to a sports team in your neighbourhood or someone who brings your bins up the driveway every week. Maybe they’re just really unique; the neighbour who drives that bright pink car or skateboards with the kids to school each day.

Yesterday I bought of what I thought was a legit used iPhone 7 plus from Facebook Marketplace but only to find out it’s fake & lost hundreds of dollars for it😡. I pretty much written off my hard earned money knowing I would never be able to track this person as he has deleted his Facebook profile already. I am sharing my story as I don’t want this to happen to anyone else as he has other items listed for sale.
