Te reo is in the spotlight and is being celebrated throughout the country as part of Māori Language Week. This week, Barbershop in Blue returned with a waiata, parents shared stories about raising children as bilingual, Stuff became Puna, and the future of te reo in NZ was debated.

Community invited to see plans before safety work starts on SH1. Safety improvement work is about to start on State Highway 1 (SH1) between Wellsford and Warkworth, through the Dome Valley.

Before work gets underway the community has an opportunity to view the plans for the road and talk to the project team.

The planned work includes safety barriers being installed to help stop head-on crashes, shoulders widened making it safer for motorists to pull over, and several intersections will be improved. More information of where the events are planned here: www.scoop.co.nz...
