Is it time to declare a housing state of emergency in the Far North?

The team Reporter from Northern News

Hi neighbours - Ex-state rentals from Auckland are being bussed in to provide much-needed housing in Northland.

The "Whare Ora" housing scheme, run by trust Chief Executive Ricky Houghton, makes use of "recycled" homes, aiming to get whānau off the street. The waiting list for state housing has tripled since 2014, and 150 families and individuals are on the waiting list.

What are your thoughts? Is it time to declare a housing state of emergency in the Far North?

The Team from Neighbourly Property

Zoned residential and in the area of benefit for the new Kerikeri sewage scheme is this 2084 m² sized section with a 1960’s home. Rental investment, renovate or enjoy it as is. It’s in a great location, a short stroll to Kerikeri CBD and just around the corner from Kerikeri Schools.

The current owner has enjoyed this property for the last 16 years, over that time fully renovating the main bathroom which is tiled with underfloor heating. New plush carpet was installed one year ago and the exterior of the home and garage painted.

The home has three double bedrooms and a separate large living room. The spacious kitchen is original in design with adjacent dining room and plenty of storage. There’s also a heat pump and wood burner. Ranchsliders and French doors lead out to expansive decks with an inbuilt spa pool and a great outdoor covered area.
Separate double garage with power and a woodshed.
Privately situated on Cobham Road, the gardens are lovely and established and come with a mixture of fruit trees and a stream boundary.
