Do you know how the proposed rates changes will impact you?
Farmers have been shocked to find the Far North District Council's proposed 'Fairer and Simpler Rates' system will see their rates increase by as much as $10,000 or 30 per cent in a year. A raft of changes to the way rates are calculated have been put forward by the council, with mayor John Carter saying some ratepayers will pay more while others will pay less.
