Emergency planning has started in Kaikohe, which could run out of water soon if dry weather continues. If that happens, residents would have to queue to collect their water from emergency tankers. Kaitaia and Dargaville also have strong water restrictions in place, and everyone is being asked to save water.

Given that everyone is locked in and unable to earn a crust, then councils throughout NZ must cancel all rate charges until the end of this crisis. I'm sure the PM would provide assistance to councils for this.
