Did the Council Lift the Water Restrictions.
I thought I saw yesterday the council were going to decide on whether too lift or partially lift the water restrictions at noon . I haven't seen or heard anything since. Not that it affects me but I am sure there are many wanting to water their gardens with a hose rather than cart grey water.
I think people should be allowed too water their vegie gardens by hand held hose and that be one of the last to be restricted . Food for the family is far more important than nice looking lawns and flowers or car wash.
Perhaps this has been a wakeup call for people too think about water supply in an emergency should something unexpected prevent the supply. Perhaps a small tank attatched to the garage downpipe with an inlet and an outlet too allow continued fresh flow.
When I was at the recycling centre the other day to get a pipe or spouting to divert water to another container the lady was saying they had sold 60 odd 200 lire drums . I didn't need one as I got a collapsible tank from CHCH a year ago for vegie garden water. Vegies love rain water.
Anyway I had better be away and do something useful .. like make a cup of coffee.

Some Choice News!
Many New Zealand gardens aren’t seeing as many monarch butterflies fluttering around their swan plants and flower beds these days — the hungry Asian paper wasp has been taking its toll.
Thanks to people like Alan Baldick, who’s made it his mission to protect the monarch, his neighbours still get to enjoy these beautiful butterflies in their own backyards.
Thinking about planting something to invite more butterflies, bees, and birds into your garden?
Thanks for your mahi, Alan! We hope this brings a smile!
