Save our Reserve New meeting

Kaye from Central-West Invercargill

Save Our Teviot Street Reserve

Community, Neighbours and Residents of Invercargill
A public forum is being held to discuss the Invercargill City Councils proposal to sell off the Teviot Street Reserve (UPDATE)
This is the first of two meetings:
Meeting One: Is for all interested parties to get together and think about/discuss the dreams and aspirations of the community for the use of the reserve. If money was no object and you could do anything with this space what would it be? How could the Teviot street reserve community get the best use out of this green space?
Meeting to be held
Date: Wednesday 8th February
Time: 6 pm
Place: Teviot St Reserve Scout Hall
If you can’t make this meeting and still wish to be involved, please email through your ideas and I can present them for you. I will keep you informed. Contact: Kaye Fraser email: saveteviotreserve@gmail.com

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

The invite extends to all interested parties from residents near and far including different organisations, as well as those passionate about the cause. This cause has brought our community together and this allows us the opportunity to show the council that we see the reserve to be a vital part of the betterment of our life style, community and ongoing well-being.
Please come prepared to share your thoughts and ideas with us, we welcome children (because sometimes kids have the best ideas) and any person that has an interest in saving the reserve for future generations. I will also present some new information that will help us all in trying to stop the reserve status from being lifted.
Meeting Two: Do you need help putting together your submission? Unsure how to tell your story? Never written a submission? Then we will help you by guiding you through the process of writing a submission so you feel comfortable writing your own. We will also look at finalising the co-designed community idea/proposal to use as part of our larger community submission.
Date and time to be confirmed

Some Choice News!

Kia pai from Sharing the Good Stuff

Many New Zealand gardens aren’t seeing as many monarch butterflies fluttering around their swan plants and flower beds these days — the hungry Asian paper wasp has been taking its toll.

Thanks to people like Alan Baldick, who’s made it his mission to protect the monarch, his neighbours still get to enjoy these beautiful butterflies in their own backyards.

Thinking about planting something to invite more butterflies, bees, and birds into your garden?

Thanks for your mahi, Alan! We hope this brings a smile!
