Poll: Do you think homelessness is a problem in Southland?
Chanelle Hammond battled the elements in a cardboard box on Friday night.
The 17-year-old was one of about 40 Southlanders who took park in the charity event 14 Hours Homeless at a Salvation Army building on Victoria Avenue in Invercargill.
The nationwide event encouraged people to sleep rough to raise money and awareness for the homeless in New Zealand.
