Yvette O'Shaughnessy, a mother of 12 and 13 year old girls at the school, started a discussion about the current uniform.

O'Shaughnessy brought it up after her daughters said they would like the option to wear shorts or pants, especially being as active as a lot of the boys at school, she said.

It's time to recognise outstanding tradespeople in the plumbing industry. Nominations for the 2018 New Zealand Plumbing Awards are now open!

Nine categories cover individuals (including apprentices and certifying tradespeople), businesses, product development and projects. While most awards are for Master Plumbers members only, some are also open to non members.

Further information - and entry forms - can be found on our website. Nominations close on Friday 9 February - so be quick! Winners will be announced at a gala dinner in Hamilton on 23 March 2018.

Welcome to the 9th annual Southland Buskers Festival!
One of the region’s most accessible and entertaining events. We’re pleased to be back with a fantastic line-up of highly skilled street and circus performers including The Mighty Mike Show (CAN), The Old Time Rags (UK), Bex in Motion (CAN), The Red Trouser Show (USA), Mr Qwirk (NZ), Tianna the Traveller (CAN), Vinyl Burns aka Kim Potter (NZ) and 3 Ring Riot (NZ).
The 2018 Festival kicks off Thursday, 1st February at 6pm with the first of three ILT Busker Cabaret Shows (Queen’s Park, band rotunda area), and we’ll continue the fun and action throughout the day and evening until Sunday afternoon 4th February. 
A big THANK YOU to our great supporters and sponsors for helping us stage the annual Southland Buskers Festival. Southland youngsters got more than just medals after returning from the South Island Colgate Games this week.

Athletics Southland vice-chairman of the track and field committee Phil Hartley said the children all got on well, both in their sports and in their sportsmanship, some making new friends at the weekend.

Southland athletes bagged 30 medals overall with many others close to getting a place or scoring personal bests, he said.
