stop the building of an industrial incinerator in Waipa

Jennifer from Tamahere

For ALL members who are within 30-40kms of Te Awamutu - please read the info at the link below and decide for yourself if you'd like to support our efforts to BLOCK the construction of an industrial incinerator (burning tyres, metal and automobile parts) in the middle of T.A. near the high school, milk processing plant, river and livestock. It is NOT a recycling plant, as pitched by the company, and will release toxic compounds including dioxins into our air and water affecting not just us but communities around us in a wide radius. Please help by signing the petition on the link below AND consider putting a submission forward to Waipa District Council and Waikato Regional Council before 13 October. There are NO other facilities like this in NZ and we can't open the door by allowing this one.

From rugged campsite to 7.5ha resort

Libby Totton Reporter from Waikato Times

Grant Kilby has always loved camping. His mum was director of health at the YMCA, and he would attend YMCA camps in the school holidays. “I think it was mandatory that I was there,” he jokes.

He went on camping holidays with his parents, and later, took his own kids.
“Camping’s been in my blood.”
