Special author events this week
Waipā District Libraries is delighted to be able to showcase two local authors in separate events this week. Join us on Wednesday at Te Awamutu Library for the release of Oliver McLeod's research on the Pirongia Volcano (The first geological map of Mt Pirongia) and on Thursday at Cambridge Library Scott Bainbridge will talk about his latest publications on true crime and upcoming projects (The Crimes of Scott Bainbridge). Publications from both authors will be for sale on the night.

Many New Zealand gardens aren’t seeing as many monarch butterflies fluttering around their swan plants and flower beds these days — the hungry Asian paper wasp has been taking its toll.
Thanks to people like Alan Baldick, who’s made it his mission to protect the monarch, his neighbours still get to enjoy these beautiful butterflies in their own backyards.
