Through these tough times we have learned the true strength and resilience of our communities and have witnessed first hand the abundance of aroha in Aotearoa.

Now more than ever, the fern seems to best capture the spirit of our country. If we look to our Māori roots, we are reminded of the twist or pikorua which resembles two intertwined pikopiko ferns - a fern known for thriving in dark, damp areas of our woods. A reminder that difficult conditions can actually be an opportunity for tremendous growth.

The entanglement of the pikorua also has no beginning or end which is often used to represent an everlasting bond. Although we are all on our own path in life, in the end we always come back together - we are all connected through our interwoven lives.

This journey through the world of art song and Lieder probes the human psyche with an intensity no other genre, not even opera, is permitted. Unhinged. Gruelling. Hallucinatory. Joyful. Beautiful. This ranks as the most searing experience any music lover can undergo.

Julien Van Mellaerts & James Baillieu: touring NZ 10-16 April

Councillors to get paid less

Gary Farrow Reporter from Cambridge Edition

Hi neighbours. Council members are concerned that poor pay rates aren't going to attract candidates to run in this year's local body elections and could result in a lack of diversity at the council table. What do you think?

Walking and cycling track upgrades for Cambridge

Hi neighbours. Our tracks are going to be given some improvements over the next few weeks. What do you think of the current straight of the paths in reserves around town? Are there any spots that you particularly think need fixing up?
