Despite interest in using it for everything from “occult activities” to a wedding venue, a derelict 120-year-old Waihī church faces the wrecking ball.

There were many ideas for the historic St James’ Presbyterian Church through the years, according information supplied with the bid for demolition, but high costs and heritage complications put people off the earthquake prone building.

What do you think, should the church be allowed to demolish it? Tell us your reasons in the comments (adding NFP if you don't want your words used in print).
