The river ferries firm is sunk financially, leaving director Darren Mills no choice but voluntary liquidation.
He'd been trying to sell the business and move closer to family, but said there were "a lot of tyre-kickers around, no money”.
The liquidation has raised questions about jetty upgrades funded by ratepayers and whether they'll now be used.
Roadworks on SH1 between Hampton Downs and Rangiriri
From 7 to 18 December, there will be night-time closures on SH1 between Hampton Downs and Rangiriri (Sundays to Thursdays, 9pm to 5am) to carry out wire rope barrier maintenance. Please expect delays when travelling through this area.
