Water savings alert lifted - for now
Thanks for your efforts after Friday’s request for urgent water savings. We're pleased to report our inspections show the city’s Eastern Bulk Water Main emergency repairs survived Cyclone Debbie and we have returned to normal service.
Although the immediate request has been lifted, further water conservation measures may still be required at short notice during some aspects of construction, or if river levels rise again - and it looks like we've got some serious rain on the way this week.
Last week's massive rainfall flooded the repair site and we shut down the main due to increased risk of further subsidence and damage to the pipes.

Police apologise to rest home alleged theft victim after failing to act
