What is Sanskriti?
Sanskriti is school holiday program for children aged 5 to 15 years. It is based at Tamahere community hall and children from all schools are welcome to attend.
We believe in giving children opportunities to do the things they love and enjoy in a supportive and encouraging environment.
Our holiday programme is focused on sports, games, art & craft & practical learning.

Our vision:
Helping children grow into individuals with pride in their own heritage, confidence in their identity and enjoying themselves. Physical fitness, spiritual outlook and enjoyment are equally important for our growth as a human.
Our aims to teach:

1. Traditional games in India that have been known for centuries to enhance visual-motor or sensorimotor coordination.
2. Easy yoga & meditative skills. Learning to be still can help us focus better.
3. Basic facts of what it means to be honest, respectful, caring, confident and responsible global citizens.
4. Mythological storytelling to enhance their imagination & values.
5. Activities that enhance core human values like patience, tolerance, respect, honesty.
In other words, this offers comprehensive and holistic education in a fun learning environment.

Your contribution:
$150 per child for 5 days.
$125 per sibling if older is involved.
$100 per child for 3 days.
Bank deposit.
What to bring: Children must bring enough morning tea, lunch, afternoon tea, a drink bottle and a named hat for each day.
If your child has any dietary requirements please let us know.

It’s ‘April Falls’ this month, and we’re raising awareness of preventing falls. We want to help you stay on your feet and living the life you want to live.

As we age, the risk of having a fall increases. Those over the age of 65 have a 1 in 3 chance of having a fall and those over 80 it’s 1 in 2.

Having a fall can be devastating and can often result in a broken bone, which is painful and can take a long time to heal stopping us from doing the things we love.

The good news is that many falls are preventable. A new movement called Live Stronger for Longer aims to help reduce the risk of having a fall so we can live an independent and active life.

Having good strength and balance is key to staying on your feet. You can find approved community strength and balance classes in your area and practical information, advice, and resources on reducing the risk of falls.

Live Stronger for Longer and join the movement today.

Proudly brought to you by ACC, HQSC, MOH and your local community health providers.
