Hamilton Bridge Club Free Lessons

Bruce Cresswell from Hamilton Contract Bridge Club

Bridge is considered to be a challenging game of skill but comes with an undeserved reputation of being hard to learn. Hamilton Bridge Club offers free lessons that will take you through the twin skills of bidding and playing. These twin skills ,
in addition to keeping the mind active, also offer new friendships based on newly learnt skills, meeting like minded individuals and the opportunity to travel to local, national and international tournaments.

And for younger people the added challenge of a contest with the most powerful computer (the human brain) as opposed to programmed computer computer objective steps. Humans have subjectivity, nuance, communication and subjective thinking, competition and interaction. Such contests provide real competition based on graded playing skills.

So come along, accept the challenge and the social and mental rewards from a skilled and competitive game.

Bring family, friends, lovers, enemies, workmates or just yourself. Start out as a rank beginner and become a world champion starting on Friday March 15th 10am to Noon or Tuesday 19th March 7pm to 9pm.

Phone (07) 839 4547 or email to lessons@hamiltonbridge.co.nz to register your interest.

Poll: Have you ever had a Healthy Homes inspection done where you live?

Libby Totton Reporter from Waikato Times

Conflicting Healthy Homes inspection reports are raising concerns about the consistency of standards meant to ensure rental properties are safe and liveable.

In one recent case, a Cambridge rental property underwent two inspections within a week, with significantly different outcomes. The first, arranged by tenant Sara Lewis, identified multiple issues including mould, vermin, and ventilation concerns. A second inspection, arranged by property managers Harcourts, just six days later, found little to criticise.

Have you ever had a Healthy Homes inspection done where you live? Tell us your reasons in the comments (adding NFP if you don't want your words used in print).
