Do we need armed police in special vehicles patrolling Waikato communities?

Nicola Brennan-Tupara Reporter from Waikato Times

Hi neighbours,
New rapid reaction armed police teams will form in three districts, including Waikato, after the Christchurch terror attacks prompted a review of firearms emergencies.
On Friday, Police Commissioner Mike Bush cited "growth in organised crime" and the impact of methamphetamine-fuelled offending as factors justifying the new teams.

So do you think we need armed police patrolling Waikato communities?

new chicken place -- Texas Chicken -- at 5 x rds

Barbara from Enderley

This place only opened 3 days ago so I thought I'd try it out tonight.. drive through... they were sooo busy.. a great start for their business.... but staff accidentally gave us spicy instead of original chicken so we took it back... the staff and Manager could not have been nicer and certainly did much more than what we expected.. gave us some freebees too.. such nice people .... and great food.... will certainly be customers of theirs again. A big welcome to them to our community... I urge others to try them out :)

Our beloved Municipal Pools

Dianne from Hamilton East

Today, I happened to glance at a copy of Waikato Times and lo and behold, most of the front page was dedicated to council declaring what a wonderful vista it will be when the 'derelict' municipal pools are demolished. I was astounded. I am almost certain that supporters of the revitalisation of the pools have never been given the same space and privilege of being on the Front Page. Where is the fair play here? The impartiality ? These pools have been with us for over 100 years, and are one, if not the only concrete outside pool, of its type in New Zealand. They have been the making of many memories for thousands of Hamiltonians and others over the years and yet The Waikato Times and other media sources have chosen to give very little support to the pools. Please people email council, even now at the 11th hour, your voice, our voices could make the difference!
