ARTS & IDEAS - CREATIVITY Programme TERM 3

Arts & Ideas is a unique and flexible art exploration programme, aimed at bringing out confidence and creative thinking in both adult beginners and continuers. Each term we explore a variety of media, techniques and themes, traditional and contemporary arts, culture & ideas intermingle, and we also explore personal stories. Some participants have done no art since they were children, and rediscover the joy of artmaking. Practicing artists are challenged to work in a collaborative, community way. Art is a universal language that makes it possible to bridge these differences and find commonality. Artmakers has 33 years of experience working with learners at all ages and stages, so everyone can find something that grows their creativity. The conversations are just as interesting ! Held on Wednesdays, x8 sessions per term. All classes on Wednesdays: Term 3 July 25 - Sept 12. Mornings 9:30 am - 12:30 pm pr Evenings 5:30 - 8:30 pm $120 per term for either morning or evening session.

Police apologise to rest home alleged theft victim after failing to act

Police have apologised to a pensioner who caught a carer-turned-crook allegedly stealing cash, admitting there was more they could have done.

The about-face comes after the Waikato Times revealed the plight of rest home resident Lisa Allen, who set up a hidden-camera, capturing footage that appeared to show the caregiver opening her handbag and taking out a $50 note while the room was unattended.
