Dog droppings

Rosemary from Nawton

I walk my dog every evening and I usually walk on Bartholomew Drive. In the last month I have been disgusted to see numerous dog droppings, especially on the eastern side. These are obviously the droppings of large dogs. What sort of people allow their dogs to foul the paths and berms without picking it all up after them? I always collect my own dog's 'doings' and it's not difficult so why can't others do the same? I don't carry enough bags to collect all the droppings that are left for people to walk on. It certainly spoils our lovely neighborhood.

What's your favourite piece of Waikato history?

Libby Totton Reporter from Waikato Times

Car parks inspired a milking shed design that took off around the world and became a piece of Waikato District history.

A hundred-year-old church and gravestones from the 1880s will also feature as the district turns the spotlight on its past for its first Heritage Day on April 20.
