Heatwave will push New Zealand temperatures into the 30s

Get ready for a scorching week and a taste of a real Australian heatwave.

Things will begin heating up from Saturday afternoon. Right through next week, many New Zealanders will sweat their way through temperatures above 30 degrees Celsius, possibly into the mid-30s or higher in some sheltered spots.

Probable hot spots include Hamilton, Rotorua, Taupō, Taumarunui, Taihape, Palmerston North, Blenheim, Hanmer Springs, Methven, Fairlie, Wanaka, Alexandra and Cromwell. Read more here.
