Transport rates debate splits Waikato regional councillors
Regional councillors were accused of ‘not listening to the community’, during debates over transport rates.
Waikato Regional Council voted to keep public transport rates the same in Hamilton, and to not return a $2.545 million surplus to ratepayers, in Tuesday’s annual plan deliberations.

Grant Kilby has always loved camping. His mum was director of health at the YMCA, and he would attend YMCA camps in the school holidays. “I think it was mandatory that I was there,” he jokes.
He went on camping holidays with his parents, and later, took his own kids.
