Poll: Are you a caving fan?
I rarely say no to a new experience. Which is probably why I found myself, a non-swimmer with exactly zero caving experience, zipping into a wetsuit on a chilly Waitomo morning and wondering whether I was about to make national headlines for all the wrong reasons.
But how could I say no? This wasn’t just any old adventure. It was my first-ever caving expedition, my debut in a wetsuit, and my introduction one of New Zealand’s oldest tourist destinations. The promise of glowworms and underground wonder lured me in like a moth to a bioluminescent glow.
Are you a caving fan? Tell us your reasons in the comments (adding NFP if you don't want your words used in print).

From rugged campsite to 7.5ha resort
Grant Kilby has always loved camping. His mum was director of health at the YMCA, and he would attend YMCA camps in the school holidays. “I think it was mandatory that I was there,” he jokes.
He went on camping holidays with his parents, and later, took his own kids.
“Camping’s been in my blood.”
