Why 2021 will be the year of the long weekend

The Team Reporter from Stuff

Hey neighbours,

Good news – 2021 is set to be the year of the long weekend.

Five out of 10 public holidays will be Mondayised (or Tuesdayised in one case) next year, which means if you work a standard Monday to Friday week, you can look forward to some extended breaks.

In fact, once you’ve tacked on the weekends, you’ll end up getting a whopping 25 days off out of those 10 stat days, plus your region’s anniversary day.

It's bee swarming season!

Renton from Gordonton - Puketaha

Hello, I'm Bjorn.
I'm a registered beekeeper who loves re-homing swarms.
I am experienced at this so please let me know if you see a bee swarm this season, I can come and carefully re-home them for you.
I enjoy doing it so I do not charge to take away unwanted bees.

Please call or text me 0212282530
Thanks!

David Bennett former MP for Hamilton East.

John from Fairfield

It was a very nice touch to see a lonely David Bennett by himself waving a placard at the Boundary Road bridge which was thanking his supporters with a big smile and a friendly wave. He may have lost his electoral seat last weekend but has been generous in saying thank you for the support given to him at this time. This was nice to see.
