Traffic held up unnecessarily
I have noticed that at traffic light controlled intersections, nimble pedestrians cross quickly when their "person" turns green but long after they've gone, turning traffic is still held up by a red arrow.
Some of the 6 types of UK crossings hold the traffic up with a brief red light/arrow which quickly turns to flashing amber so drivers at their discretion can move as soon as they think it's safe ie when there are no pedestrians crossing. I think it's the Pelican crossing I like. The following link describes the 6 types. You may be amused by the Toucan (like the one at Ellicott/Avalon Dv) but we probably don't need many Pegasus crossings in Hamilton.
