The Waikato District's new mayor
Aksel “Danger” Bech will be the new mayor of the Waikato District after comfortably beating his one and only opponent Jacqui Church in the weekend’s elections.
Bech was meeting with council staff in Ngāruawāhia on Monday as he looks to take the reins of one of the geographically largest, and most diverse district’s in the country.
