No visitors at Waikato DHB

Libby Wilson Reporter from Hamilton Press

You will probably have caught up with news that visitors are no longer allowed at Waikato hospitals. The policy took effect today and includes southern rural and Thames hospitals.

"We recognise how important the support of whānau and friends is for our patients. However, this is an extraordinary situation and a necessary precaution for the safety of our patients, staff and community," a Waikato DHB statement said.

There are some exceptions, detailed in this story.

Back where it belongs

Matt Bowen Reporter from Waikato Times

Hi neighbours,

It was a special day in the newsroom on Monday as Stuff's chief executive Sinead Boucher announced a management buyout of the company, of which the Waikato Times is a part, from its Australian owner Nine Entertainment.

It puts an end to NZME's increasingly desperate bid to get its clutches on Stuff. It also puts it firmly in the hands of those who want the best for it, a NZ owner who understands the business.

What's your view on the Times moving back into NZ hands?

Read more local reaction to the buyout here.
