No visitors at Waikato DHB

Libby Wilson Reporter from Hamilton Press

You will probably have caught up with news that visitors are no longer allowed at Waikato hospitals. The policy took effect today and includes southern rural and Thames hospitals.

"We recognise how important the support of whānau and friends is for our patients. However, this is an extraordinary situation and a necessary precaution for the safety of our patients, staff and community," a Waikato DHB statement said.

There are some exceptions, detailed in this story.

Show neighbours your photography snaps of Waikato!

The Team from Neighbourly.co.nz

Kia ora Waikato, it's time to dust off that old camera, get out and about and show the rest of your neighbours your favourite, treasured spots in your region. It could be an awesome view, the shy wildlife or even the old buildings that are wanting their stories to be told.

Go ahead, get snapping and illustrate what's beyond your backyard.

Housing in Rototuna

Wilma from Nawton

I think the MP is being a snob for getting a petition up about the State housing in the area. Everyone is entitled to a home, The Nats have been pushing for more housing, BUT here is the MP for Hamilton West getting a petition together to stop the development going ahead. If he wants to be a Snob perhaps he should go live in Wellington at parliment or go live in Central Auckland. I am all fro housing being intergrated into the area it will be monitored carefully, so the gangs dont get ahold but we need tougher laws to control the gangs, BUT people need houing also
