UKULELE WORKSHOPS/CONCERT 3rd/4th November

Celia from

I know this is short notice, but we have two amazing workshops and a concert coming up this week with Peter Moss.

Peter is a renowned Musician from the UK and is traveling around NZ doing workshops and concerts at the moment. He stayed with us on Saturday night and he really is wonderful. He has been playing ukulele since he was 8 years old, winning competitions for his playing as a teenager. But his best talent is his ability to teach and break down concepts to reach people of all levels of ukulele playing.

Peter was in Gisborne on Friday night - Sue Burton who organised the workshop/concert in Gisborne shared this feedback with me:

"We did a George Formby style strum syncopation workshop which was tailored to the most basic of learners then Peter performed at the end of our Ukulele Underground evening. Not only is he an incredible artist he’s a true entertainer. His performance was interactive, varied and showcased the incredible range of the ukulele by playing different genres of musical styles. I thought he was spell binding and judging by the faces of those around me they did too. I urge anyone who plays at any level, or who just enjoys music to go along and listen. You won’t be disappointed."

So grab a friend and come join us for a fun night together.

Some Choice News!

Kia pai from Sharing the Good Stuff

Many New Zealand gardens aren’t seeing as many monarch butterflies fluttering around their swan plants and flower beds these days — the hungry Asian paper wasp has been taking its toll.

Thanks to people like Alan Baldick, who’s made it his mission to protect the monarch, his neighbours still get to enjoy these beautiful butterflies in their own backyards.

Thinking about planting something to invite more butterflies, bees, and birds into your garden?

Thanks for your mahi, Alan! We hope this brings a smile!
