SPCA Closing
Shocked to read today that the Waikato SPCA will be closing due to insufficient funds to keep going. Whilst there are many good and worthy charities that people donate their money to, this is one that I feel is consistently overlooked.
I have recently stepped down as President of a health based Charitable organisation (not in the mainstream) and I know how hard it is to compete against the more emotive charities for the donor dollar - those with large advertising budgets, high profile supporters and established annual events.
I would like to think that the good people of Waikato would not want to see the end of the SPCA in our region.
